Mentality Overview - Cruz is fairly balanced, she struggles with her own demons, but doesn't let it seep into her work often. In a sense, she's rather mundane, and worries about mundane things. Security, Food, Survival. She's very grounded and realistic, being able to see the need for most anything as long as there's a reason for it. This practical point of view doesn't leave her unemotion or uncaring towards the emotional or the religious though. She's very respectful of others who are not a threat to her, as she's completely confident she could take down any real threat presented to her. She can be stubborn though, and question other's motives often. She's constantly battling against good and evil in her head, though believes she's morally correct, lending her to be slightly self-righteous. Sometimes she can butt heads with you, and show signs of being too stable or law-abiding/conservative, but she's got a soft soul, hard exterior.

Religious / Spiritual -   Cruz herself is not very religious, she was at one point in her life, but realized very quickly working in her faction that "fighting for Zonje" wasn't really an acceptable battle cry. After being where she is she's realized that there are so many various ideas out there that she finds it unfair to limit herself into thinking just one way. However, she follows all rules, whether they're practical or religious based, and expects others to respect the rules as well and the following's cause. She's not disrespectful towards spiritual dogs and is only intrigued by their way of thinking, she's more than willing to give a "Praise be," here and there - maybe even saying a small prayer before a fight. However, you'll likely not find her bending over backwards for the sky gods themselves, she has more faith in those on the ground.

Major Faults -  Cruz can be hard to please and may brush people off easily, and may seem closed off, she is. After being around so much consistent death she's found life to be fickle, and therefore finds it hard to become fixated or devoted to people. She's only devoted to something she knows can't disappear entirely, the laws and upholding moral good.

   Why? >>    Cruz can be around others, be in their company and even make small talk, but frankly she just doesn't like big crowds or being closed into a situation where she has to interact. Though Cruz is not shy, she's is formal, and it can almost seem as if she's not interested in speaking to you - she's just trying to be professional and doesn't want to give up her trust too easily. You'll find that Cruz is fairly confident and sure of herself, she rarely doubts her own decisions and decides that she chooses morally right most of the time. She has no problem approaching people, striking up a coversation, and being able to communicate her thoughts clearly and precisely. If you ask her to do something she will get it done, and she rarely dwells in the ideas of what if this and that.

Cruz , in work mode, is extremely discplined unlike her mentor Antreas. She doesn't bark back to those who should be respected and rarely steps out of line just to make herself heard. Randoms challenging her may be met with still irritation, but you won't find her attacking dogs out of the blue without good build up. She can hold herself together, lead others, and give orders while distributing work. Even in the most chaotic situations, her tactfulness and ability to be direct helps her keep control.

Cruz feels it is right to do what's good for everyone. She cannot take pride in something that she knows will hurt everyone in the process. She has integrity and honesty in her veins, it would be hard to describe her as a goodie - she knows when a white lie or a cover up itself may be in the best interest of everyone, but when in comes to something that morally combats her own she will speak out againt it.

Cruz rarely likes to take credit for her work, and she feels the people who should acknowledge her or be thankful of her already are. She won't go out of her way to prove she was the "mastermind" behind anything, and is willing to let any achievement be overlooked for the sake of moving forward. Cruz has a flaw of not backing down from a challenger, this doesn't mean just in a fight. Anyone who's out to be snarky, rude, or have an attitude with her will unlock her stern behavior. Once you cross her dislike line, she has not a lick of respect for you until the message gets through your head. Her firm and confident nature makes her suseptible to being a stubborn ass. Once she has a set idea in her head or a goal, she's willing to make whatever happen to achieve it. On the flip end she'll also try to prove you wrong in some cases where there's a challenge that she believes herself to be right on.

Cruz is champion for a reason, she wins the fights she decides to pick. And while her demeanor for the most part will seem friendly or kind, she'll rip you a new one in a heartbeat. And the quickest way to get there is to try her patience. If she tells you to move along, move along. If she gives you a task - do it. You challenging her or questioning her authority is only a bad time for you.

Cruz is a bit finickey, and knows exactly what she wants. She will almost always want what she wants, and rarely does she like to compromise. Because of this she can be a bit tedious to get to do a job above her pay grade, or even to talk to on a deeper level. To catch her attention you'll have to have or know what she wants and that can make reading her awful difficult.

Her manner of formality allows her to be indifferent, and unyielding to any one single belief of someone who is not her. This makes her seem unenthusistic, uninterested, and likely rude but she does not see it that way. She believes the only way to be disciplined is to not have emotional morals driving your motivation.

Cruz loved her father, he was trustworthy, honorable, and was the only male in her young life that could've made her genuinely smile with his goofiness. She admired him and would've stopped at nothing to follow in his footsteps as a hunter.

Maricruz, her mother, was a straight forward, stern, sometimes blunt woman. However she was caring and truly meant good and wanted good for her kids. Cruz and her butted heads at times, but she care for her mother dearly. It was ironic that they turned out so alike.

"Hulio" [ --- , Male, Brother (Oldest) ]
Hulio was like Orin, goofy and a laid back type of male. He could often find the good in any situation and never let anyone be too down in his presence. He was always the "go-to" brother to hang out with and have fun with.

"Rob" [ Officier, Male, Brother (Second Oldest) ]
Rob was much like Cruz, very dignified and formal. He knew his place and never went out of his way to combat it. On the surface is was extremely firm like Maricruz Sr, but inside he was the biggest teddy bear. Cruz and him got along fine.

"Tito" [Officer , Male, Brother (Youngest) ]
Defiant, Tito was definitely the troublemaker of the family, blunt and snarky. He created Cruz's lack of tolerance for disrespect, and she often found him annoying - but still her brother.

"South" [Brawler , Male , Ex Mate ]
South was a gentleman at the beginnig, like they all are, but his true colors were shown after taking Cruz back to his home. The male was wholy abusive and cruel due to his own insecurities. Cruz is disgusted and partially blames herself for what's happened to her, she's just happy he's gone.

"Alric" [Commandard, Male, Mentor ]
Alric was much like South, abusive and arrogant, but Cruz considers her relation to him complex. In a sense she hates him for the acts he did, but on the other hand without him she would've never had the talent and skill to have escaped from that place she was stuck in and rank so quickly in the following. You'd never hear her say anything nice about him, and she likely wouldn't even be upset if he were dead.

HISTORY

BIRTH to 6 MONTHS

Born to a small town a at the edges of Trinity Lake, Cruz had a fairly normal upbringing. Her father, Orin was a hunter, very loving man. He always taught his pups little life lessons and always had the best attitude towards life. Orin always told his pups you can do anything you set your mind to, just believe. Her mother, Maricruz, on the other hand, was perhaps more practical in her thoughts, telling the kids they'll die if they do try and die if they don't - so might as well try. It was a mix between stern and relaxed environment, there was really nothing at this stage in Cruz's life that lead her to believe things could really hurt you in life. She was extremely optimistic, as well as her 3 brothers. The family, and town, was fairly religious. Communal prayer took place everyday, and meals and talk were often about praise given to Zonje, and their gratefulness for life given to them. This also meant a lot rules in the town were absolute, breaking them meant you were a sinner, it meant you were greedy and sure to be casted down from Zonje's light just like Skuga. This created a very strict environment, but when everyone follows the same mentality, things are just easier.

6 MONTHS to 1 YEAR

Cruz's training began early, as she wanted to become a hunter like her father. She found chasing down small prey and medium game with Orin to be most enjoyable, and frankly she found the freedom somewhat liberating - even though she felt guilty hunting snacks for just her and her father, it was fun to be spontaneous once in a while. At 8 months old, young Cruz had fallen for a much older dog by the alis "South", who was well on the path to 3 years of age. He promised her a lot of things, but most importantly to take her back to his home - he described it as some sort of oasis, perfect and green. Cruz didn't really have any reason to leave her home, she was happy and well taken care of, but something about South made her curious to explore and she was feelin' some type of way about him. So Cruz agreed to go with him for a little while, but made him promise that he'd return her home after a couple of days, she knew her family would miss her. Upon getting to South's town, his attitude and whole demeanor switched completely. From what she thought was a sweet and down to earth guy, became a overly aggressive, possessive monster over the span of 4 months. She was forced to stay in his town, locked up in his quarters. Caught between a rock and a hard place, Cruz shouldn't have been there in the first place and might suffer the consequence of getting spotted and killed. But staying locked in a room was just as much torture. South was verbally and physically abusive in many ways that left her mentally damaged and completely closed off.

1 YEAR to 2 YEARS

While living under South's boot, at 1 year of age, Cruz and South's arguements and fights got a little too noticeable. When South was reprimanded for keeping a rouge female, he offered to trade her to keep his position in the ranks instead of both of them being banished. Luckily, he was speaking to a dog who was known to take bribes, the commander of the brawler faction, Alric. Among using her for trade in the form of sex, Alric was very brutal in the fact that he liked sparring. At a year, Cruz knew little to nothing of sparring or how to fight back, she had never had a reason for it before, and it just felt so foreign to her. But after living in the oasis for a couple of month she did grow to become impatient with the constant bullying and abuse, around a year and half she began to get mouthy towards the commander. The first time she spat back at him, she saw something grow in his eyes, and from then on he rarely beat her or fucked her. Alric found her growing spite more useful to help train his new brawlers. At first he taught her nothing, and allowed her to get beat up in one on one fights, once he felt it was neccessary - he taught her how to properly fight and not just how to survive. Cruz wasn't very excited for...well any of it. While others in the oasis would brag that they loved killing, she couldn't say the same for herself. She liked surviving and she felt as if Alric was playing an unwinnable game with her so she did what she needed. She took in all of his teachings, she had to, he was extremely strict if she failed to do something correctly. He'd chastize her relentlessly if she messed up in the smallest way or lost another fight. After months of train and constant fighting, at a year and 8 months, Cruz made incredible headway. She learned how to use her power, agility, and speed to her advantage; developing a high pain tolerance; and a tenacity to keep getting up no matter what. As she grew, so did her strength and lack of mercy for the others she fought. Failing a fight not only meant public humiliation for her, or a beating, but also meant being withheld from food or water for days. Her anger and spite fuled her power to fight back unfortunately, including a will to survive. At 2 years of age, Cruz was one of the only prominant young fighters in the oasis, the unbeatable, even to Alaric's combat she was an impeccable fighter.

2 YEARS to PRESENT

Cruz felt as if many nights she could've killed Alric in his sleep, but perhaps it was combined trauma that allowed her to be so complacent in his keep. In those times she'd think about her family and getting back to them. Only a few months into her 2 years of age, Cruz was bold enough to finally ask something of Alric. She had heard that South was set to become commander, to take Alric's place. Of course, Alric hated the idea, for with such a high title came money, good food pickings, and insane amounts of authority to break the laws that disagreed with you most. As a retired commander, he would be sent to the desert to either die or find a new home. She offered to kill South, so that Alric would keep his rank; however, in doing so, she wanted her freedom. Alric rejected the idea for many days, and Cruz warned that the closer to the ceremony Alric waited, the more suspicious things would look. Perhaps she was too bold in her ideas, but she knew it was either a chance at freedom, or to live with her original captor forever. Finally, with much luck, Alric agreed to the plan, letting Cruz out of her chains and telling her that if she failed, he'd find her and kill her. She could've ran, and not done anything, but something in her blood boiled. She had permission to kill the man who ruined her first. Spiteful and vicious, but Cruz hunted down South like the dirty dog he was, catching him in the alley of a wine dealer, drunk and confused. She killed him right then and there, quickly, and quietly without much of a struggle. She really took no pride in it, perhaps if he were sober she would've - but she was happy to see him be rid of the earth. Cruz ran her ass off, running in whatever directions she could remember to get home. Alas, she ended up in another foreign world, the following they called it. She started low, a follower like the rest - but she'd be damned if she was going to be beneath anyone ever again, to be looked on like dirt. By two and a half years of age, Cruz had used everything she learned to work her way up the ranks, to prove that she couldn't be fucked with, and wouldn't die without making her family somewhat proud of her, even if they'd never meet again.
